Debates

Yesterday P6 were reading an article about fox hunting in their comprehension work. It lead to a discussion on the subject and as a follow up activity the class had a debate. The boys were asked to present a case in favour of fox hunting and the girls were asked to oppose fox hunting. The debate was very interesting and the pupils enjoyed the experience. As a result we have decided to have more debates in the class and i have asked the boys and girls to think of issues that we could debate. Please post any possible ideas on the blog.

I have already had one request from Aimee. She would like to debate whether or not the government has the right to ban the normal light bulb in favour of energy saving light bulbs or should it be our right to choose for ourselves.

This is the sort of ideas that i'm looking for.
